Gift Cards

Our platform offers a versatile Gift Card feature that allows you to sell digital gift cards to your customers. These gift cards can be used for both in-app and in-person payments, enhancing your app's functionality and user experience.

Activating the Gift Card Feature

1. In the left-hand navigation panel, select Gift Cards > Configure.
2. If not previously authorized, you need to enable the Gift Cards API through Square Authorization. Please refer to the section on Reauthorizing your Square permissions for further instructions.
3. Enable the Gift Cards feature by toggling the switch located to the right of the “Enable Gift Cards” option.

Setting the Reporting Location

Our Gift Card feature leverages Square's Gift Cards API and, as a result, requires a defined Reporting Location. Despite this, the gift cards remain redeemable across all your locations, with the selected reporting location being responsible for processing all Gift Card sales.

1. Click on the dropdown menu labelled “Please Select Location.”
2. Choose the location that will process all Gift Card transactions.

Customizing Gift Card Load Amounts

Our platform offers significant customization capabilities. For the Gift Card feature, you can specify the load amounts that customers see when loading their gift cards. The platform provides four load options by default, but this can be increased to ten.

1. If you wish to add more than four load options, click on the “+ Add Additional Amount Option” link.
2. Input the preferred load amounts for each option.

Allowing Custom Load Amounts

If you want to provide customers with the flexibility of specifying their own load amount, follow these steps:

1. Enable the "Custom Amounts" option.
2. Define the minimum and maximum load amounts that a user can input for the custom load function.

Note: Due to compliance policies, the maximum load amount is capped at $2000.

Implementing Gift Card Loyalty

We provide three options for integrating the gift card feature with a loyalty reward system.

• Bonus Points: This option allows customers to earn bonus points whenever they use their gift card to pay for orders.
• Points Redemption: This allows customers to redeem their points to subsidize their gift card reloads.
• None: Select this if you do not wish to add a loyalty rewards layer to your gift cards.
